Commewijne District
The Commewijne district (see map) resides along the country's northern coast, and shares a border with the Marowijne district to the east; Para district to the south/southwest; and Wanica and Paramarimbo districts to the west.
The capital of Commewijne is Nieuw-Amsterdam, and the district is divided into six resorts: Alkmaar - Bakkie - Margaretha - Meerzorg - Nieuw Amsterdam - Tamanredjo.
