La Unión Department
La Unión department (see map) is the easternmost department of El Salvador. It shares a border with Honduras to the north and east; Gulf of Fonseca to the east and south; and San Miguel and Morazán departments to the west.
The capital of La Unión department is the city of La Unión, and the department is sub-divided into 18 municipalities: Anamorós - Bolívar - Concepción de Oriente - Conchagua - El Carmen - El Sauce - Intipucá - La Unión - Lislique - Meanguera del Golfo - Nueva Esparta - Pasaquina - Polorós - San Alejo - San José - Santa Rosa de Lima - Yayantique - Yucuaiquín.
