Upper Demerara-Berbice Region
The Upper Demerara-Berbice region (see map) resides near the southernmost part of the Essequibo River, bordering the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region to the north; Demerara Mahaica and Mahaica-Berbice regions to the northeast; East Berbice-Corentyne region to the east; Potaro-Siparuni region to the southwest; and Cuyuni-Mazaruni region to the west.
The capital of Upper Demerara-Berbice is Linden, and the region is divided into two Neighborhood Councils: Right Bank Essequibo and Torani/Bulletwood.
